Drunk drivers, speeders and those driving on too little sleep are not the only roadway hazards. Dangerously placed utility poles, a guardrail installed incorrectly, or an exposed bridge pier can lead to death and severe injuries from a car crash.
Most crash fatalities occur on two-lane roads with these hazards. Historically, the Fourth of July weekend has the worst record for fatal car crashes, followed closely by July 3. Overall, weekends are more dangerous than weekdays.
